Hello! My name is Julia Kaiser and I am the proud principal of Old Vail Middle School. I was raised outside of Philadelphia and moved to Tucson 20 years ago in search of a change of scenery and new experiences. A few years after moving, I decided I needed a career change too. I wanted to do something that made a difference in the lives of others and returned to school to study education. I began teaching middle school Language Arts and came to the Vail School District in 2008. I helped open Vail Academy and High School as the Assistant Principal, served as an Assistant Principal at Cienega for two years, and was the Principal of Andrada High School for 6 years before coming back to my middle school roots to take over Old Vail. In my free time I enjoy hiking with my dog and have two grown children who I love to travel with.
I love being a middle school principal! I spend my days surrounded by the energy and curiosity that only middle school students have. I believe these are the most impactful years-- socially and academically. With my incredible staff, I get to help bridge the gap between elementary and high school, creating good citizens and lifelong learners. Go Hawks!
